Preliminary Task Evaluation.

 

When I first started this task, I felt a bit unconfident in using Photoshop as I didn't know what tools did what and so on, I also didn't have the faintest clue of how to crop, change colours and insert images onto the page. I had never used this software before. To overcome my problems with Photoshop I watched a couple tutorials and experimented on Photoshop for a while until I got the gist of it. After this I became a little more confident as I could then navigate my way around the software happily and use some basic tools. I could then used these skills to create a magazine that I felt happy with.

Even though I had already planned how my magazine was going to look, I had a lot of trouble choosing colours to use as I couldn't seem to find a colour that was what I wanted and that looked professional. To help me choose I played around with the different colour available and experimented with the colours until I found one that I liked the look of.
My weaknesses the time was the general knowledge of Photoshop and the skills I needed to be able to use it effectively. I feel that, while completing the preliminary task, I developed the skills I needed to do this. I completed all tasks given to me at that specific time and to a good standard.

Overall I am very happy with the final product of my preliminary task. I think that the front cover and contents page have a basic professional look. For the construction of my final product I will continue to work on my skills of using Photoshop.

For this task I had to hand draw the cover and contents page of my preliminary magazine task.  I have clearly annotated each feature of my magazine design.

 

 PHOTOS TO CONSIDER FOR PULSE MAGAZINE

 

These are the images I am considering to use as a front cover background image for my Preliminary task college magazine 'Pulse'. I will choose one of these images to become my background image for the magazine, to which I will then edit on Photoshop to then begin to create my college magazine 'Pulse'.
